Part of the thinning at Hadleigh this summer was to fell the specially marked ash trees at 1.4m above ground, and forward the butts out and load into a bulker for shipping to Ireland for Hurley manufacture.

Had one of our busiest summer work schedules in recent years, going from one thinning job to the next. Have caught up with the forwarding action now, some great looking heaps of wood at roadside now, waiting for the trucks.

Was invited to host an open day for forestry professionals at our job site in a wood, where the agenda was upcoming changes to the grant system. About 30 local business people attended and we demonsrated some of our equipment, had a bit of an interview with David the chief executioner, and most importantly had burgers and sausages at the end, with beverage!

Here is a job we recently completed for a woodland manager friend over near Hadleigh. The job involved felling understorey and thinning oaks around a large pond, and as the ground was too wet to forward logs out we used the tracked log loader to swing logs to stacks at the edge and create space to allow an excavator in to de-silt the pond.
